As the end of another decade draws near, people all over the world are thinking about New Year resolutions for 2010.  Some common resolutions include:

·         Lose weight                 ·         Become healthier

·         Save money                 ·         Reduce stress

·         Make new friends        ·         Spend more time with the family

Only 2% of us achieve our resolutions even though we make them year after year.  Changing your lifestyle is not easy.  It requires a lot of time, energy and determination.

Let us help you fulfill your resolutions and get you on the right track for 2010. Activate offers many fun, interactive walking and biking activities and the Martinsville Henry County Coalition offers aerobics and educational programs that are free to you right here in your community.

Take that first step on the right track - Join Activate staff for an easy-paced walk on January 5th at the Fieldale Trail located 3521 S. River Road, Fieldale. We will walk on the trail approximately 1-mile upstream of the parking area. The walk begins at 9am and will last approximately one hour. You will learn about “Walking for Fitness” as we make the trek enjoyable. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring a bottle of water.

Tuesday Morning Strolls is a program sponsored by the Dan River Basin Association, Activate Martinsville-Henry County, Henry County Parks & Recreation, the M-HC Coalition for Health and Wellness and Martinsville Parks and Recreation.  Participants are invited to free public walks throughout the year where they can learn about points of interest found around our community. Participants are given a frequent walker card that is punched each time they participate and registers them for prizes.
